August First Friday Review / Word Pool

The August 2006 First Friday Open Mic for PROSE writers/readers/listeners was another fairly full house. It was as always a welcoming environment for seasoned readers and newbies alike. Rather than write a traditional review, I'll just say there were some great WORDS spoken, and I've compiled a list of some that struck my fancy for one reason or another. Here they are in no particular order, feel free to use them in your own Prose, sort of a First Friday Word Pool:

crackle
bus stop
rocking
rattle
silver
Fedora
relish
angora
ginger
linger
puddle
echo
clever
Ruby
oatmeal
neon lights
porch
cameo
Sylvia
fragment
Pow.

No Registration required. HOWEVER if you want to read, you need to get there before 7 pm to put your name in the silver bucket

Venue: The Grove at Juniper & 30th (30th & Fern & Juniper, South Park / San Diego)

Open Mic Prose Reading Bring 3 minutes of your own prose and read in a creative and relaxed atmosphere. Three minutes may not sound like much, but it's best to keep your audience wanting more! And there is more because First Friday readings are held every month.

Host: Amy Wallen is a writer and teacher in San Diego.

Also, this is not a competition, this is just fun. The worst that will happen is that you'll get polite applause
