2nd Anniversary First Friday Open Mic Prose Reading

whew. Long title for what will be a short post.

October was the 2nd anniversary of the First Friday Open Mic hosted by San Diego Writers, Ink. I had thoughts of writing a review, but the point seems moot now. I will, however, summarize.

I arrived late, and just managed to miss a drama that involved police and a drunk and disorderly perhaps off-his-meds writer so all I have is second-hand accounts which I won't post here.

There was a great turnout-- maybe 80 writers. Awesome writers who were brave enough to take to the microphone and share. I did manage to sneak my name into the bucket and read a short piece, but while I was waiting, I gathered words. Words that I now offer as a Word Pool to use as you wish, words that suprisingly or synchronicitally appeared in more than one writers piece:

crackle
neon lights
rocking
bus stop
Fedora
relish
angora
linger
silver
cameo
oatmeal
puddle
fragment
echo
echo
echo
clever
ginger
port
ruby (or Ruby)
rattling

So go make some poetry or prose with these words!
